The Swedish Music Wonder

ABBA, Avicii, Ace of Base, Swedish House Mafia, Roxette, Robyn, Zara Larsson, Icona Pop and Max Martin are just a few of many world-renowned Swedish artists, producer and songwriters. Many of the world’s biggest pop acts also come to Stockholm to produce their music in cooperation with the city’s many music creators. In fact, this is where a substantial part of American and British hits are created! Technical innovations such as the streaming services like Spotify, the unique song hub Auddly for music creators and many successful start-ups within the music-tech industry are examples of how Sweden has established itself on the world musical map.

Together with your music guide you will explore the reasons why Sweden has become one of the world’s leading exporters of music. Our aim is to offer a truly enjoyable day in a laid-back atmosphere with interesting stops connected to the music scene.

The tour will introduce you to the Swedish music hits and wonders starting with the first Swedish band to reach #1 on the Billboard list; Blue Swede with “Hooked On A Feeling” in 1974. Since then ABBA, Ace of Base and Roxette have reached the prestigious the number-one rank at Billboard and many more artists have reached great rankings within the top ten list. During the tour we will of course pay tribute to ABBA and to popular artists from the 80s and 90s such as Europe, The Cardigans, Ace of Base and Rednex. We will learn more about the top music producer Denniz Pop from the 70s and of course about Max Martin, the third most successful hit maker after Lennon/McCartney with more than 20 Billboard number ones to his name.

Presently Sweden has great acts on the music scene like Zara Larsson, Icona Pop, the illusive rock group Ghost and The Swedish House Mafia just to name a few who carries the Swedish flag with pride. One of the greatest acts if not the greatest in the DJ genre, Avicii, who sadly left us in 2018 and who’s music has the world record in downloads, will naturally get a special presentation during the day. Rest in peace Avicii/ Tim Bergling and thank you for the music as ABBA used to sing.

In addition, the tour will give you the entertaining story behind the Nobel Prize in Music, the Polar Music Prize.

Welcome to join us for our spectacular Swedish Music Wonder tour – the best and most entertaining way to see Stockholm!
